  1. Reading Clarissa and Septimus we can observe a similar way of write of Joyce but it's more comprensible, more clear. But the narration proceeds for points: from the florists to the flowers. We can almost sniff that smell, we can almost see the bright colors in the shop. Immediately something breaks the tranquillity of the situation. There is a succession of events spontaneous mixed with the ideas of the characters and their memories.

  2. V. Woolf is another writer like Joyce that focuses her attention on the sensations, in fact putting the narrative on a second plan she describes all the things and places that are around at the characters. Furthermore in this text by her description the reader is involved because for example he can see and smell the flowers, so V.Woolf revolutionizes the way to describe the reality fusing the human sensations with the nature, the place. Finally she creates some analogies between a different elements: " Yet rumours were at once in circulation...passing invisibly, inaudibly, like a cloud".

  3. In the piece "Clarissa and Septimus" of Virginia Woolf, we can notice, as Francesca and Michelle said, another way of narration.
There is a large concentration of visual and olfactory elements alterning to descriptions of chacarters; also the repetitions of some flowers underline the emotions and feelings that these aroused to the narrator.
The narrative is fast and the rhythm is pressing through the use of a lot of punctuation and few conjuctions to emphasize the wide prevalence of descriptive and reflective sequences at the detriment of those dialogical.
